Free the San Francisco Eight!

Asian Americans for the SF8

Faces of the SF8 plus the late John Bowman

We, Asian Americans for the San Francisco 8, support the defendants who are all ex-Black Panthers. We recognize that the Black Panther Party was one of the most revolutionary organizations in the history of the United States. The Panther Party has been inspirational to other racial and ethnic revolutionary groups in the U.S. and around the world.

Did you know that 50-60% of SF8 jury (if the case goes to trial) will be Asian American? That's why we need YOU to help represent and spread the truth!

Next Asian Americans for the SF8 Meeting: January 14, 7:00 p.m.

J. Edgar Hoover, the head of the FBI, once stated that the Black Panther Party was the greatest threat to the national security of the U.S. The U.S. government has continued to keep the Black Panthers under surveillance, using harassment, persecution and attacks through the years. The Panther Party came under assault in the 1960s and was destroyed by the Counter Intelligence Program (COINTELPRO) operations in the 1970s.

For that reason, as an ethnic group, we protest the persecution of the San Francisco 8 and demand that the charges against them be dropped. We call upon other Asian Americans to join us in supporting community activists like the SF 8 and all radical activists that the power structure has found it necessary to use subterfuge to destroy their image. The case of the San Francisco 8 is such a struggle for progressive and radical community activists to fight for basic human rights, for their chosen means of redressing injustices, and for all peoples' rights for life, liberty, and true democracy.

Free the 8 and all political prisoners!
